7 WHY THE MARCHES Cities Urbino, Unesco World Heritage, “most beautiful house of the Renaissance”, Ascoli, “one of the most beautiful towns on the whole Italian territory” (Cesare Brandi); Fano with an indelible roman style and great Renaissance, Ancona, spur stuck into the sea full of history and heart, and Pesaro, Senigallia, Loreto… Villages and Castles Corinaldo, European destination of excellence, the Gradara castle where the Paolo e Francesca’s love affaire and the Borgia’s history were setting, the Caldarola’s fabulous castle, rich of art works, Visso and its stoned houses that keep the original Leopardi’s writings, Frontone and its ship shaped castle.
